Creation Nation

Am happy with these two babies, I do not miss pencil sketching as much as I did when I first started with watercolor.  Back breaking work these two were, makes me respect how artists create and hone their craft.

And Now Adding Colors

And so we started watercolor and it has been such an exciting journey.  From excitement to fear to dread and back to excitement again (where I currently am now).  The important lessons for art and maybe also for life: do not be afraid to make mistakes.  That's the only way to learn.

Love the apple and lemon, hate how the bottle looks

This was really fun to do!

And this is a metal tin which you get a sneak peak of...
It will be featured in the next piece I am now working on!

Studies In Sketching

It has been a busy three months from July to September as I was in art school.  A school of fine arts.  And have been thoroughly enjoying myself!  Am so pleased with the progress....

In sequence of the first to the very last piece I worked on in the module on sketching:

This one was from lesson 1 when the teacher said just sketch what you know

Second piece in progress

And the final work!

Work number 3

Lots To Look Forward To

Good news to share - I've enrolled myself in the basic western art course.  Really looking forward. So much to learn and explore.  This wonderful journey really never ends :)

Something I did today, enjoy....

Our Purpose In Life Is To Find Out Who We Really Are

It is our job to find happiness, to live life always fully and with joy.  There may be good days and bad days, but we must always keep the faith and keep our dreams in sight.

Some sketches I did this month in April, the days have somehow become longer and I really need to re-connect with my core.  Even if it's one fleeting moment of losing myself in my imaginary world, it is a moment I have enjoyed :)

The Black Forest, Germany.  The one and only forest that captures my imagination!

I imagine a lovely rustic cafe by the lake, maybe Lake Como?

Feeling More

I am trying something different this round.  And I think this might be good.  Looking inwards for my own ideas, my own thoughts, my own way of expression.  Venturing into the unknown and looking forward to discovery.

This is the home of my late grandparents, such a joyful place to be.  Warm and cosy and full of love and greenery, I still think of it with fondness and a smile on my face.

And here's one with some words which I really enjoyed thinking up and drawing...

Simplifying The Frame

Going for a more simple approach this round, a quiet reading corner on a rooftop garden in Milan:

All that's missing is a cup of camomile tea and a good read :)
